THIS IS MY STORY

Hello! I'm Noni Marshall and I'm a senior at Howard University studying Broadcast Journalism and Psychology. I tell stories, I blog, and I'm an entrepreneur.

JOURNALIST.

My love for media, journalism and special reports was born out of my affinity for people like Lisa Ling, Soledad Obrien, and Oprah Winfrey who are women of color who have dedicated their careers to telling stories that matter. Because of women like these three, I have decided to dedicate my life to doing the same thing. I would love to bring controversial issues to light and diffuse the lines between cultures, sexes, regions, and socio-economic groups by providing programming that highlights the humanity in all of us.

BLOGGER.

I love people. All kinds of people. I especially love people who are controversial and different and interesting. I love people who are honest about the way life really is and how it should be. My love for people led me to following blogs and Youtube channels. I would watch people talk about their lives and I loved it. People around me kept encouraging me to do the same thing and I was convinced that I had nothing to talk about. Time went on and I changed my mind. All of a sudden creating my own Youtube Channel Brown Sugar Spice and later creating a Blog seemed like the next logical thing to do. I'm just starting out and being brand new to this space can be overwhelming, but I'm excited to see where it goes.

ENTREPRENEUR.

I have a love for businesses. I love learning how they work, getting to know the masterminds behind them, and seeing the impact they have on people, so I'm starting a few of my own. Most recently, I've been working on launching Curly Coins, a program that teaches youth and young adults of color how to master their finances and monetize their passions. I also plan to own an online boutique and a hair company. I want all of you to be along for the ride, so keep your eyes open for updates and fun developments.
